Joa Korhonen on tehnyt pitkän ja arvostetun uran muusikkona. Pitkälti Korhosen kynästä on syntynyt kaikkiaan yhdeksän SARA-yhtyeen albumia, yksi pitkäsoitto Meadow Island -yhtyeessä sekä EP-trilogia Pedestrian’s Motor -kokoonpanossa. Yli 15 vuoden aikana Korhonen käytti kappaleita ja niiden muodostamia albumeita pääasiallisina välineinään tunteiden ja tunnetilojen välittämisessä.
Kaikkea ei silti saanut sanottua. Tarve uuteen välineeseen vahvistui. Yksittäisen maalauksen merkitys ja teema avautuvat minulle yleensä viimeistelyvaiheessa. Siirtelen maalia kunnes kankaalle alkaa muodostua hahmo, melkein kuin välähdys alitajunnasta,ja annan katsojan saattaa narratiivi loppuun.
Joa Korhonen has had a long and distinguished career as a musician. A total of nine albums have been created for the band SARA, one LP for the band Meadow Island, and an EP trilogy for Pedestrian’s Motor, all of which were largely penned by Korhonen. Over the past 15 years, Korhonen has used the songs and albums they formed as his main tools for conveying feelings and emotional states.
But all could not be said. The need for a new instrument was reinforced. The meaning and theme of a single painting usually unfolds to me at the finishing stage. I move the paint until a character begins to form on the canvas, almost like a glimpse of the subconscious, and I let the viewer complete the narrative.
